For those of you who are using Internet Explorer for browsing, there is a little trick that will considerably increase the startup speed of the browser. The main idea is to start Internet Explorer without loading the home page. So here is how to do it:
1. Find your Internet Explorer shortcut, right click it and select Properties. 2. Go to the Shortcut tab. 3. In the target field add the suffix -nohome, so that it will look like this: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome. 4. Click Apply. 5. You will need to restart Internet Explorer, and then will see the difference.
Note: The trick won't work if you open IE from another shortcut.

i suggest following the same procedure, but when typing the path, use the browse button and actually browse to the program files folder, drilling down into Internet explorer, and selecting the iexplore.exe file, click ok, and then put -nohome at the end . then click ok finish.
