It's being said the file search in Windows Vista is very fast. Even so you can still speed it up. Windows Vista uses the indexing service to keep track of the files on your computer, by storing information about files in the index, including the file name, date modified, and properties like author, tags, and rating. By default, Vista indexes the user's Document Folders, the Outlook mailbox and Offline folders. However Windows Vista allows you to index more folders so that the file search will be even faster. Here is what you have to do:
1. Open the Control Panel window (Start -> Control Panel). 2. Double click Indexing Options. 3. Click Modify.
4. Select additional folders you would like to include in the index.
