The Nokia 6600, launched in the second quarter of 2003 for around €600, was Nokia's high-end model of the 6xxx Classic Business Series of mobile phones. At the time of release, it was the most advanced product ever launched by Nokia. It is a smartphone running on the Symbian OS-based Nokia Series 60 platform.

Here is a way to share the Internet connection with a Nokia 6600 using the Bluetooth via MacOSX.

1. The first step is to add a new device to your MacOSX operating system. Therefore go to System Preferences -> Bluetooth. Set up new device. Add the Nokia 6600.

2. Now go to Applications -> Utilities and open Bluetooth Serial Utility. Click New... and enter these settings:

Name: Bt
Port Direction: Incoming
Port Type: RS-323

Click Ok to confirm the settings, then quit the application.

3. At this step you will have to download some Apple Script from here. If the Mac is connected via Ethernet to the Internet, start the Share Ethernet to Bluetooth script. In order to stop the bluetooth sharing, run the Stop Sharing to bluetooth script.

4. Now to configure your mobile phone. Download gnubox6600.SIS and install it on the Nokia 6600.

5. On the Nokia 6600 go to Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Access points -> Options -> New access point (use default settings) and enter the settings below:

Connection name: Bt
Data bearer: Data call
Dial-up number: anything (eg 5555)
Authentication: normal

Navigate to Options -> Advanced settings. There enter 192.168.0.1 for Primary name server and set Use ppp compresion to Yes.

6. You are almost done. Start gnubox. Under Options select 2box Direct -> bluetooth. If you don't want to surf any more, change this back to 1box Phone.

7. That is it! If you want to connect to the Internet choose Bt. If you want to surf on wap sites, don't forget to change Services -> Options -> Settings -> Default access point to Bt.
