There are lots of paid software available to restrict the access to your computer during certain periods of time, but there are so few freeware ones which can do the same thing. In order to effectively restrict access to your PC based on timings, Windows XP has a built in command which you can make use of. The syntax is NET USER and here is how to use it:
1. Click Start -> Run... and type cmd followed by an Enter. 2. Here you will use the NET USER command.
net user username /times:{day[-day][,day[-day]] ,time[-time][,time[-time]] [;...] | all}
Here are some examples to have a better picture of all the parameter this syntax has.
net user helpero.com /time:M-F,08:00-17:00 net user helpero.com /time:M-F,8am-5pm net user helpero.com /time:M,4am-5pm;T,1pm-3pm;W-F,8:00-17:00 net user helpero.com /time:all (this allows user to logon at any time, on any day)
Anyway, be aware that the time is limited to one hour increment, which means you can only restrict the user by one-one hour (like 13:00, 16:00, not 13:30 or 16:45). You can use the abbreviation for the day (that is, M,T,W,Th,F,Sa,Su).
