How To Prevent Yahoo! Messenger From Starting When Windows Starts

Like most of the instant messaging programs Yahoo! Messenger has a feature that when enabled starts the program when the operating system starts. In case you are using this program occasionally it's for the best to stop the default behavior mentioned previously and here is how:

1. Open Yahoo! Messenger.

2. Click Messenger and select Preferences.

3. In the left pane select the General option.

4. Under When I start up my computer, uncheck the Automatically start Yahoo! Messenger checkbox.

Prevent Yahoo! Messenger From Starting When Windows Starts

5. Click Apply and after OK. At next Windows start this program won't open.
