The Public folder is a convenient way to share files that are stored on your computer. You can share files in this folder with other people using the same computer and with people using other computers on the same network. By default the Public folder is located in C:\Users\Public. But sometimes you do not have enough space available on your C drive to share all the things you want. So here is how you can move the Public folder to a bigger partition.

1. Click Start and type regedit in the Start Search field. Hit Enter.

2. With the Registry Editor opened, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows NT -> CurrentVersion -> ProfileList.

3. In the right pane, look for the entry named Public and double click it.

4. At this point you have to change the value on the entry to something else, like E:\share\Public.

5. After reboot your Public folder will be moved. Now you can easily erase the old one, but not before you copy the files in it to the new location.
