How To Disable Back/Forward Cache In Firefox

Helpero

Firefox has this feature that makes recently visited pages load faster. The bad news is that it only uses 4MB of RAM per stored page.
In case you are not keen on using your back or forward buttons you can disable this feature, otherwise being only a waste of processing power and memory usage.

1. Open Firefox and type about:config in the address bar.

2. In the Filter filed enter browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers.

3. Change the value to 0 by double clicking on it. This will disable the feature.

4. In case you still want to have some pages in memory you can tell Firefox how many by typing any integer as a value for this feature. An example could be 5 for 512 of RAM or 8 for 1024 of RAM.
