Partition Magic is a computer program for hard disk drive partitioning. Partition Magic is capable of resizing NTFS or FAT partitions without data loss, and can copy and move partitions, including to other disks. Additionally, it has somewhat limited support for ext2 and ext3 partitions. However you can create a Linux partition with this program. Here are the steps:
1. Download Partition Magic from here. 2. Install the program and after that open it. 3. At this point you will see all the partitions in your computer. To create a new one ready for Linux look on the left under the Pick a Task pane and choose Install another operating system. 4. At the first screen click Next. Now select Linux from the operating systems shown.
5. At this point, you will have to indicate where you want the new partition to be created. Since our C: partition is where the programs are installed we have picked to create the Linux partition after the D: partition.
6. Once you have decided where to put the new partition, click Next and select from where should the program take the space to create it. Click Next.
7. Select the partition properties like size, file system type and label. Click Next.
8. Select Immediately if you are set to install Linux right after the changes take place, or Later to install it after awhile, but then you will have to run Partition Magic to set the partition active. Click Next.
9. Now you are ready. Click Finish to create the partition.
